Since we've moved back into our house, I've had a desire to have a little more order and a little less stuff as compared to the time before the flood.
Admittedly, I've never been a bed maker. It just was not important to me. Now I find it calms me and makes for a more productive day.
I don't want to spend too much time on it or even make it perfectly. As I tell my children with their beds, "Just put the blanket over the top." Here is my method:
FIrst of all, you will notice that there is a comforter AND a blanket. Yes, the hubs and I use separate covers at night. We've done this since our first night as man and wife. I feel it's probably helped avoid a lot of conflict and silent resentment.
I take his blanket and stuff it behind our pillows. I don't even fold it.
I use it to prop up the pillows. Then, I basically just start smoothing out my comforter. By the way, that comforter is about 15 years old.
Finally, and minimally, I tuck the blanket under the pillows. That's it! If I don't have to take pictures, the bed gets done and under 2 minutes.
Ta-da! It's not fancy, but I do find it comforting. Ha, ha..."comfort-ing," as in comforter? Pun intended. Thank you and have a nice day.
Our bedroom is very minimally decorated at this point. My husband has severe allergies so I've learned I can't have a lot of extra things around. I may or may not decorate more, but I'd like to live in this space and really get a feel for it before I make any decisions.
P.S. I usually don't make the bed on the weekends. I like to leave it ready for impromptu naps.
