In line with that, last Saturday I was a vendor at a Trade Days event. I had high expectations. I planned "Make and Takes" which are really popular at craft shows. This is where you can try the product yourself to see how it works then take it home. I imagined I would have to turn people away and have a sign up sheet to come back later, it was going to be so popular.
Uh, no, it did not happen that way. I felt defeated and deflated. I heard it was lighter traffic than usual. Maybe it was the wrong crowd, but it seemed everyone was not selling too well. There was some awesome stuff there! What WAS selling like hotcakes was a newer version of a fanny pack, VERY popular with the senior crowd. Currently trying to figure out how I can tap into that market.
I was ready to throw in the towel, but my husband has encouraged me to try again. He is so great.
So, here we go again.
I'm going to try a different approach this weekend. Focus more on already made products. Then I've booked another event for May 12th.
This past weekend was a bust, but I did meet some nice people though!
