I was SOOOO excited when I saw the Chop Champ at Walmart, and for $7 no less! Months earlier, a friend had shared a video of this or a very similar item and I was giddy at the ease of prepping a salad. At the time, it was a new item and highly priced and that did not mesh with my budget. I had put it in the back of my head until I strolled down the clearance aisle at the W.
For Father's Day, my husband wanted to make some chicken wings. Apparently the store we shop at no longer sells the regular breading that we use, so we improvised. I ended up making chicken tender salad.
My husband loves salad. I love salads that are not healthy. The only thing missing was the shredded cheese.
The box came with 2 sets of the salad baskets/boards, a serrated, plastic knife and instructions.
We layered the salad fixin's as instructed. Lighter fare at the bottom and heavier items towards the top of the basket.
Then we put the cutting board on top and flipped it over.
The video made the process look so easy that I let my 10 y.o. demonstrate it when he asked.
